If this is filler, it's the best filler ever. For the major part of it i doubt it is though since it's such a crucial part of history. Also, whats wrong with these flashbacks? These are amazing and very important for the story.

Yeah with the midnight channel, 4 eps a week. At ep 8 now. None of his shows are that serious. Champloo isn't either. But atleast it has more serious stuff than Space Dandy.

Well they are doing that because the manga never ended. So they want to drag it out as much as they can. I bet you the ending will be left open because the manga went on hiatus and we never got an ending to the story.
