"Attack on Titan or “Shingeki no Kyojin (進撃の巨人)” is one of the hottest anime series now, and there are many viral memes inspired by the series. This has led to a boom in the sales of the manga as well, where the total manga sales has now exceed 20million copies." "At the end of 2012, the total manga sales were only 10 million copies, so its a huge increment. Especially since the anime series started airing, over 8.7 million copies of the manga were sold."
