R.I.P Demonoid
The IFPI and Interpol take down Demonoid. Demonoid Raid Credited To IFPI, Multiple Arrests In Mexico Reported The IFPI and Interpol say they worked together with the Attorney General of Mexico and Ukrainian police to shutter the popular file-sharing service. In addition to equipment seized in Ukraine, they have now confirmed “a number of arrests” and seizures of assets in Mexico.
Earlier this week it became evident that after the popular BitTorrent tracker Demonoid had suffered a DDoS and hacker attack, it ultimately had bigger things to worry about. Sergei Burlakov of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said that following a request from Interpol, Ukrainian government investigators had arrived at Demonoid’s hosting provider ColoCall and had the site taken offline. ColoCall said that ultimately the decision to remove the site had been theirs. Until now, information on the raid has only come from Ukraine, prompting some to question why the music and movie industries have remained silent on such a prominent takedown. The wait for that is now over. The IFPI said their complaints have finally delivered results.

idk this just shows its the entire world now set on stopping piracy. 1 peg at a time. Hopefully piratebay doesn't go next. If interpol is getting involved anything can happen

You didn't seem to read the whole thing or fail to understand the implications. This isn't like when they get a DDoS or when they had to switch domains and were down for a couple months. They had their main servers in Ukraine and Mexico shut down by Interpol and the Ukrainian and Mexican federal government. They seized their equipment and made dozens of arrests of Demonoid staff. They are not coming back.

I realize I won't be seeing anymore of demonoid. I'm just saying it's nothing new, to not be able to get torrents from demonoid. They were down several times for several months before. I still survived

Re: R.I.P Demonoid
There's so many manga sites that are being taken down, and some of them have blocked American IP's from being able to read manga on their sites.
There's also been anime streaming sites shutdowns, and sites like anime take have been threatened to be shut off as well.

Re: R.I.P Demonoid
I'm a content manager on Justdubs too, one of the bigger anime dub sites. And the only cease and desist we get is from Funimation when we upload DBZ. I also use AnimeUltima a lot. They use two of their own players to host content, nothing happend to them either. Like I said, more focus is on file distribution sites, not streaming ones.

http://www.onemanga.com/
Was shut down a long time ago, now they only index manga chapters and information.
http://mangastream.com/
For a while they stop providing translation to the latest naruto, one piece and bleach because of funimation but now they are back.
http://www.animetake.com/
Its always getting cease and desist, they mostly move servers now to avoid trouble.
As for the streaming site I use they don't have any problems. I mostly use lovemyanime.net

Re: R.I.P Demonoid
I have many replacements but I'll keep using the sites I like until they all either get deleted or they decide to shut down them selves.

Re: R.I.P Demonoid
We shouldn't worry though. Usually when an anime site goes down because of content its a license holder for a specific anime that files a C&D with the domain host.
