Pinkpop day 1 !

Ya so I decided to watch live because pinkpop has been awesome for so long and I never got to watch it. Sucky streams suck hard though, but I'll get to that later.

OK! So we started off with a dutch (?) band called ''De Staat'', apparently they're quite known around here, even though I had never heard of them before. They were supposed to be a ''one of the best openings pinkpop ever had'' and that's a quote from a guy called Giel Beelen. So yes, the stream didn't start yet when De Staat started performing so they decided to just not show Lifehouse and instead show us De Staat. anyway De Staat sucks LOL, they put this huge machine on the stage, and yes the actually call it ''our machine'', which made lots of noise and made it almost impossible to hear any other instrument that was being played (except for the drums). So yeah that really sucked, I couldn't even hear the vocals because of that machine! Anyway, after the concert I read an article about the supercool opening of Pinkpop, de Staat was actually blaming their machine for their poor performance. Apparently it wasn't doing what it should have done, reading that gave me a good laugh actually, come on a machine like this can't make music and we all know it. I was planning on adding a picture after this but I can't find one

So yeah that started off pretty badly. The Manic Street Preachers were up next, this was just a random band, not bad but not great either. I didn't get to watch all of the show because the stream started fucking with me so I can't really judge these guys, from what I've heard they're quite good, they had also played on pinkpop before so I guess the crowd likes them too.

Simple plan, they're not that popular (here in the Netherlands, I'm not sure about the other countries) but for some reason both ryan and I knew all the songs they played without having a single one on our pcs. The show was quite awesome, the vocals were kinda off from time to time but I think that was because of the stream, sometimes the backing vocals were louder than the actual lead vocals :7

After this band it was time for Elbow to perform, a band which I don't know at all, which is understandable because they just suck dick, they really do.

Ya so after the shitty Elbow it was time for the GRAND FINALE (for the stream at least, after this band there was still a performance from Coldplay, which was not broadcasted at all. ALTER BRIDGE omfg ALTER BRIDGE yes guys ALTER BRIDGEEE. These guys are awesome, their lead singer Miles Kennedy is the frontman of slash's solo tour and his voice is just great. The other members of the band were also pretty fucking good, I found out their all from Creed so I might as well check that band out too later on (I do know them but I only have like 3 songs of them). So yeah I'm officially a fan of Alter Bridge now and I think ryan loves them too. So yes everyone listen to Alter Bridge if you want to be awesome.


tl;dr : De Staat sucks and Alter Bridge is awesome.

Alter Bridge was awesome yes! They played Metalingus and Come To Life right after each other, awesome. Will be checking out more of Alter Bridge soon.
