I'm tired of topics getting locked here the instant there's off topic in it. 60% of the time threads could still continue but they never will because we lock them. I'm partly responsible for this too. It's way easier to lock it than go through and delete posts. I want current mods and future mods to only lock topics when the problem is solved or every possible thing could be said about the topic which would be at least page 2. Instead, when there's off topic. Delete the posts and pm the person with warnings if it becomes habitual. i know it's harder work. But we're losing lot of active topics because we're doing this. and less active topics means less forum activity.

My job as the forum admin will be to oversee all mod activity and make sure this is being done.

Also, for Wizzo and Jason. sorry for the wait. I will be setting up your guys mod today.

I agree with you, and it will be a lot harder. What would make our jobs easier is if members remember to stay on topic, off topic stuff is the BIGGEST problem we have. How many time must we warn of off topic stuff before that person gets a time ban from that section?

It will never go away.
Yeah you can do a lot about it, but off topic stuff will always be there.
And at times it's not a problem, just if people continue the off topic it gets annoying and the admin would have to lock it.

will the mods go 'harder' on off topic? infractions and stuff faster.
