How did you get into GunZ?

Now that GunZ is closing soon, i was wondering, how did all of you guys get into this game? How did you hear about it? What made you play?

For me it was a friend who told me to play it. I was playing games with him for a couple of years already (text based games they were), at his house, at my house, over the comp. And one day when i was at his house he showed me GunZ and told me to try it. I wasnt into these kinda games alot so i doubted i would like it, but i did. My friend quit shortly after he showed me gunz, but i stuck with it.

I was looking for a game I could play on my computer. Back then I had a crappy computer and I was looking for something that I could run at decent frame rate.

I saw the game on a gaming site and read a couple of reviews about it. I ended up watching some game play videos and I ended up liking the game and downloading it.

It was the game that started it all for me. It was my first computer game and ever since it has open my self to so many other games. I will never forget it because it was the start of it all for me.

My friend showed me a game called GalOnline I think. When I came back home I wanted to play it, but I couldn't remember the title and I think in google I wrote something like gun online and they showed me Gunz. Don't know why, but I downloaded it and tried it. Was fun to spray over everyone

Guy I was training football with told me about it. I got to lvl20 or so pretty fast and then quit for like 6 months, because there were too many hackers. Then I ran out of other games to play and my brother was still playing gunz, so I decided to try it again. And then I met Bato and became a ß-style flipper noob.

Saw Ryan playing it, then tried playing it myself and failed miserably; couldn't even look around properly LOL. Then I tried it a few weeks later and it suddenly went a lot better. Stuck with it ever since until about 2010/2011. Played some private servers and became GM/Forum mod on a few small servers (CT GunZ in particular, fuck I miss that server) and co-owned another small server once. Good times.

some rl friends wanted to play it so i just joined

I played some game before and it started dying and got shut down, so my friend told me to play anigunz, which was a private server but i accidentally got the official game and played there.

CT Gunz was when i first played a skillmap.

never was into gaming but I saw my older brother play this game and decided to play

Friends at school told me to play with them.

I just found it out by searching on different sites, and since then i have been playing it , I started from the bottom and learned my self k-style and sht haha

And how to beat serious cw nerds with lvl 1's

Some real life friends played it and had a really good clan (Panda) and so they showed me around etc. Was in some shit clans, spent hours alt tabbing from youtube to gunz to learn all the moves. I was so happy when I joined No Limit (a BIG clan, pros!)
Then got into cwing etc. Much fun!
Met loads of people and have some really nice memories. No regrets!

My friend Phil who I've known IRL for the last 12 years got me into iGunz. He didn't stick with it but I eventually got my dad playing too.

A school friend told me to play it. I never really enjoyed games in general and I remember I hurt my head before I was going to play it.
I was 90% sure I wasn't going to play the game because I was in pain and wanted to just lay down, but my friend begged me and started playing it. Little did I know this game was the best game I've played!

Now Uni has taken over and I certainly do miss the old gunz times.
