Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Has anyone seen Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann yet? I don't like very many Mecha anime in the first place, aside from some classics like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Dual: Parallel Universe, Big O, Aquarion, Eureka 7 and Macross Frontier. But Gurren Lagann was so epic. And their power levels are insane towards the end.


Gurren Lagann takes place in a fictional future where Earth is ruled by the Spiral King, Lordgenome, who forces mankind to live in isolated subterranean villages. These villages have no contact with the surface world (or other villages) and are under constant threat of earthquakes. Select villagers, called diggers, are conscripted to expand their homes deeper underground. Simon, a meek young digger ostracized by his peers,

In his skyless cavern of a village Simon toils daily, drilling holes to expand his stifling little world, until one day he makes an extraordinary discovery: a small glowing drill-bit and the man-sized mecha it activates. Before he can give it a second thought Simon's dragged into a plot to break through to the surface by the local gang leader Kamina, only to have the ceiling come crashing down on top of them under the weight of a giant monster! It somehow falls onto the boisterous Kamina and cowardly Simon to defend their village, but once they defeat the monster, what awaits the duo on the surface world?


It has 27 episodes, 2 separate manga ( ones has a different story line ), 3 movies and If some of you are familiar with the Row Row Fight the Power meme, it originated from this anime.

You should really try it out, it's so awesome. And no I haven't seen Geass yet. Been planning on it though.

Yeah, Gurren Lagann is one of my all time favorites now. I'll watch Geass if you try Gurren Lagann. We could go episode for episode.

I'm currently watching 2nd ep of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Nice. I'm on Gunz right now for the weekly thing. So I'll watch some Geass after.

I'm happy that there's a lot of action right from the beginning! I don't remember why but I didn't like CG in first ep's, so don't drop it too soon

That's what's cool about Gurren Lagann. There's lot of action in each episode and their power levels and the stuff they do just keeps getting crazier and crazier.

My on hold is like a week. I'll finish this TTGL in a week, maybe two.

Batos hold is like 4 months lol. TTGL I finished in 1 week.

I think I'll finish it a week also. TTGL is just crazy awesome!!!
